Emily McFarling is running unopposed for Clark County District Court Family Division, Department H, set to take the bench in January 2027 following the November 2026 election.

Emily McFarling has spent over two decades advocating for Nevada families with intelligence, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to justice. Since opening her solo family law practice in Las Vegas in 2003, she has built a respected career handling the most complex and high-stakes family law matters in the state.

In 2010, Emily earned the designation of Certified Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of Nevada — the highest family law credential available to attorneys in the state. Her reputation as a knowledgeable, strategic, and ethical advocate has earned her the respect of clients, peers, and judges alike.

Now, she’s ready to bring her experience, values, and leadership to the Nevada Family Court bench.

Emily is not just an experienced attorney — she has been a Certified Family Law Specialist  for over 15 years and is currently a member of the Specialization Board for the State Bar of Nevada, where she is involved in preparing the test questions, administering and grading the exam, and reviewing applications submitted by Nevada attorneys wanting to become Family Law Specialists, a designation earned by fewer than 1% of attorneys in the state.

Over her 20+ year career, Emily has gained the respect of her peers, opposing counsel, and Judges alike for her professionalism, preparation, and integrity.  She has been a family law attorney in Las Vegas since 2003 and has extensive experience in retirement division, complex financial issues, international law, complex child custody cases, and domestic violence.

Ms. McFarling is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers – and past president of the Nevada Chapter; a fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers; a member of the Nevada Family Law Specialization Board; a Master of the Bench in the American Inns of Court; and on the board of directors of Our Nevada Judges, Inc. She recently was appointed and served as the only family law attorney on the Nevada Rules of Appellate Procedure Commission. 

Ms. McFarling received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from the University of Missouri – Columbia and her Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law in 2002.

She is licensed to practice in Nevada, Arizona, California, the Federal District Court in Nevada, the 9^th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Emily’s deep experience in both trial and appellate courts gives her the perspective and wisdom needed to serve as a fair, impartial, and effective Judge.
